Every year, summer comes around and my oily skin breaks out like crazy, because every foundation I choose doesn’t stop my oily skin. This year, I took it upon myself to find great foundations for people with oily skin like me, that will still give you full coverage, without extreme oxidization or blotting every 2 seconds. Since I did my summer foundation routine, I decided to extend it and show you some great summer foundations my skin has loved!
Here are some great summer foundations that you will love during the summer months! (In order of least expensive to most expensive)
Color Stay is one of my favorite foundations, because it really controls the oil in the skin. Plus, it doesn’t transfer! I spend most days hugging people and moving around a lot and Color Stay stays on like a dream. Love this for the summer! Contains SPF 6.
Dry skin alternative–Revlon Color Stay for Normal/Dry Skin
Neutrogena Healthy Skin is super light, so a little really goes a long way. It helps treat the skin while you are wearing the foundation. Plus, it has SPF 20!
Iman Second-to-None Stick Foundation is perfect for the woman on the go! Since it’s a stick, it’s drier than the other foundations. Dab a little on the face and blend with the fingers for an even skin tone. I wore this all summer last year in the scorching hot Chicago weather! #Perfection (no spf though )
For everyone with oily skin, this is a MUST have! Clinique Stay-Matte guarantees that you do not have to touch another blotting sheet ever again! According to the research results, this formula has been tested for streaking and fading at 88°F with a constant 80% humidity. It also has full coverage. This works better for oily skin than it does for dry skin. (Also doesn’t contain spf)
You can never go wrong with a great, mineral, powder foundation! This light powder appears like you have nothing on and is as natural as you can get. I love the fact that it has SPF 15!
Nothing ages you faster than the sun, that’s why Tarte created a foundation that helps with anti-aging instead of against it! Tarte is also au natural, which I love. It contains Wrinkle Rewind technology that helps with the production of collagen and brightens the skin. The Recreate Foundation contains SPF 15.
Although the BB Cream is not really a foundation, the coverage appears like one. This beauty balm helps take care of the skin by priming, moisturizing and protecting the skin, while providing amazing coverage. It contains SPF 35! This is one of my go-to face solutions for the summer.
MUFE HD foundation is one of my favorite foundations, but it doesn’t work on my oily skin. I included it, because it’s still an amazing foundation, but works better for people with dry skin. My friends who have dry skin love this foundation for the summer, though it may be too much for oily skin people! The shade range is amazing and suits virtually every undertone. (No SPF).
Out of all the summer foundations, this one is probably the heaviest. It’s matte, but pretty heavy for it to be called sheer. Still, great coverage and minimal oiliness around the T-Zone area. It reminds me of a Mac foundation, but less oily. The coverage and buildable and most people saw an improvement in their skin tone and the oiliness of their skin, according to research results. I never take research results into consideration, so based off personal experience, I do like it. (No SPF as far as I’m concerned).
Dry skin alternative–Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
Light, airy and great shade range and coverage! SPF 20!
This foundation will literally stay on ALL day! I love it and it reminds me of Make Up For Ever HD foundation. No SPF though.
Dior DiorSkin AirFlash Spray Foundation -$62 (2.3oz)
I had dinner with a friend and asked her what foundation she was wearing that night, because I could not stop staring at the evenness of her skin tone! Then she mentioned Diorskin AirFlash and I had to research it as soon as I got home. My friends swear on this as the Holy Grail of all light, airy foundations! You get the most natural summer glow when wearing Dior Air Flash and while most of the foundations above are 1 oz a pop, 2.3 oz for $62 is a pretty good deal. The packaging annoys me a bit, because you never get all the product out of spray cans (I have endless hairspray bottles to prove this!), but it’s fantastic!
Dupes to this–Revlon and Maybelline released their version of this foundation Revlon PhotoReady Mousse Makeup and Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam, respectively.
